About Liv
With more than 6 years of experience teaching piano, I have helped many college students improve their technical skills, musical understanding, and confidence in performance. My teaching style is adaptive, creative, and student-focused. I combine traditional techniques with innovative approaches, such as improvisation, blending classical and contemporary music, and encouraging composition.
Lessons focus on building strong foundations in technique, theory, and rhythm, while also allowing students to explore their creativity and individual style. I emphasise understanding music deeply, performing confidently, and developing a personal connection to the instrument. My ultimate goal is to inspire students to reach their full potential, enjoy the learning journey, and develop a lasting love for music.

My piano teaching approach is focused on creative learning, clear thinking, and personal responsibility. I believe students learn best when lessons are supportive, structured, and inspiring.
Creativity is encouraged by allowing students to explore music in different ways. I include improvisation, creative rhythm exercises, and playing music from various styles. This helps students enjoy learning and develop their own musical expression.
As a mentor and critical thinker, I guide students to understand music step by step. I explain technique, posture, rhythm, and musical patterns in simple language. Students are taught how to listen carefully, recognise mistakes, and correct them independently.
Accountability is built through goal-based learning. I help students set clear practice targets and follow a steady routine. Progress is reviewed regularly, helping students stay disciplined and motivated.
In addition to piano, I teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm skills, keyboard coordination, and basic harmony to support overall musical growth.
