About Erick
As a Professor of Chemistry, I have taught Organic Chemistry Lectures and Labs, General Chemistry Lectures and Labs, and Introduction to Chemistry for over 14 years. My classes always included direct interaction and open communication with my students. I gave countless help sessions; I maintained an open door/open communication policy.

I am an educator and chemist who is passionate in teaching students the knowledge and skills that will prepare them for academic success. I have structured my lectures to encourage active learning that provides guidance and, even more importantly, invites experimentation and participation. I tailor my classes to cater to the needs of my students.
I guide learning by helping students individually or as part of a larger group. In addition to in-class participation and discussion, I give online access to lectures, power point presentations, and other learning aids. To encourage success in my classes and to support student learning, I hold extended office hours and offer weekly help sessions. These are a few examples of my commitment and involvement in the lives of my students both inside and outside the classroom.
