About Florent
Hi, I’m Florent Tarrieux, a former organic farmer from France with over 10 years of experience in regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and soil biology. I co-ran a small farm called La Cabeillade, where we specialized in growing ancient grains, heirloom vegetables, and fruit trees using no-till, low-input, and entirely natural methods. We worked without any synthetic inputs—every compost tea and bio-stimulant was made on the farm using wild plants, resulting in vibrant, nutrient-rich produce and thriving, living soil. Alongside daily field work, I earned a national farming degree and pursued continuous training in botany, agroecology, and tool efficiency, which gave me both the scientific foundation and hands-on skills to guide others in their gardening and landscaping journeys. Now based in California, I’m passionate about helping others reconnect with the land and grow healthy, sustainable gardens—whether you’re working with a backyard, a balcony, or a larger project.

Whether you're starting your first garden, redesigning your landscape, or looking to boost your food production, I offer personalized tutoring based on a decade of hands-on experience in organic farming and permaculture-based gardening.
Teaching Method & Techniques
My approach blends practical experience with a solid foundation in soil biology, botany, and eco-responsible techniques. I focus on regenerative, low-input methods: no-till practices, homemade bio-stimulants, wild plant-based compost teas, and natural weed and pest management strategies. I aim to help you work with nature, not against it—using plant associations, natural rhythms, and low-tech, efficient tools.
A Typical Lesson
Each session is tailored to your goals and the unique conditions of your space. We might:
– Assess your soil and microclimate
– Plan an organic garden or food forest
– Set up low-maintenance irrigation
– Design crop rotations or guilds
– Create compost systems or natural fertilizers
– Troubleshoot existing challenges (poor yields, pests, etc.)
What Sets Me Apart
I spent 10 years farming in France at La Cabeillade, where I grew ancient grains, heirloom vegetables, and fruit trees with yields comparable to conventional systems—without using any synthetic inputs. All bio-stimulants were homemade using wild plants and natural processes. This experience taught me how to maximize productivity while preserving soil life and producing nutrient-dense, healthy crops.
I also hold a national farming degree and have completed numerous trainings in agroecology, plant sociology, and regenerative practices, giving me both the technical knowledge and lived expertise to help you succeed.
Who the Lessons Are For
– Home gardeners, landscapers, or aspiring farmers
– Beginners looking to learn from scratch
– Advanced growers wanting to shift to organic or no-till methods
– Anyone wanting to design a productive, low-maintenance, and ecologically sound space
Recommendations

I reached out to Florent regarding Ableton Live, and he was extremely knowledgeable and felt very current with the program and its utility. Each lesson was very easy to grasp as he was pretty much very attentive in what i'm actually retaining, and that each lesson was not too dense. As someone who is not so tech-friendly, he made it very easy to learn a computer program from scratch. Not only that, he is super patient and hilarious along the way.
