About Naman
I am an OSCAR-QUALIFIED, LA based director and writer, acclaimed for my genre-bending, emotionally charged narratives that fuse social relevance with gripping cinematic spectacle.
My Neo-Noir thriller LILLY RIGGS was released on Amazon Prime, while my breakout sci-fi short COMING OUT WITH THE HELP OF A TIME MACHINE, starring Karan Soni (Deadpool, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse), screened at over 70 international festivals, including Tribeca, BFI, and SXSW, winning multiple Best Film and Best Director awards. The film was later acquired by JioHotstar for Indian rights.
I am a winner of the Netflix Film Fund, and my horror feature screenplay SVARAK, which I co-wrote and am attached to direct, is currently in development with a Hollywood executive producer.
I am also a fellow of Ryan Murphy’s HALF Initiative, where I shadowed on FOX's hit series 9-1-1, starring Angela Bassett (Black Panther, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning). Additionally, I was a finalist for both NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. Directing Initiatives, which put me on the radar of major studios and networks.
Before transitioning to film, I worked as a high-profile fashion photographer in New York, which helped me develop a distinct visual style and strong aesthetic sensibility that I bring to my cinematic storytelling.

Teaching Method & Techniques:
I combine practical experience with creative exercises to help students understand storytelling from the inside out. My approach is hands-on: we analyze scripts, break down scenes, and develop original stories.

I’m an Oscar-qualified director whose films have screened at over 100 festivals and won more than 40 awards, and a writer whose scripts have won Netflix film fund and been optioned by studios.
