About Barney
Hello, I'm Barney! I'm an Oxford Classicist, who recently received an upper second-class degree in Literae Humaniores and who has extensive experience both of classroom teaching and private tuition.
Passion and dedication are at the core of good tuition. I believe that with the right focus and the right encouragement, any child should be capable of achieving their academic goals!
But more importantly, education must be stimulating. A child is never going to learn new information, if they are not shown why the information is important and how it can be exciting. Hence, why I think it is important when tutoring to balance a disciplined approach with a sense of fun and of curiosity!

Perfect! Great help!
Barney has helped me to prepare for my CAT (Classics Admissions Test) for Oxford. Especially going through Latin translations methodically - I don’t get stressed and confused immediately, thanks!
