About Imogen

I am an SEN teaching assistant who has been giving private German, English and Maths lessons since 2017, ranging from ages 10 to 21. I have worked with students both online and in the classroom, and I have completed over 600 hours of private tuition. My students consistently receive predicted grades of 8 and 9 (GCSE) or A/A* (A Level), and they have secured offers to study German at Oxford and other competitive universities.

Previous reviews:
Imogen is very professional, always well prepared for the lessons and sets high standards without intimidating the student- exactly the kind of tutor I was looking for. My son’s aim is to make steady but constant progress and I am really happy she continues to challenge and motivate him. I feel my money is well spent and would strongly recommend her! (Corina, parent of Year 9 student)

Imogen did a great job of boosting my daughter’s confidence in German and help expand her vocabulary and improve her comprehension. She made my daughter feel really comfortable and the lessons enjoyable. We definitely recommend her! (Marie-Eve, parent of Year 11 student)

Imogen has been helping my son with German. She is engaging, knowledgeable, communicates well and is very reliable. I would not hesitate to recommend her as a tutor! (Lisa, parent of Year 10 student)

About the lesson

In my lessons, I both support and stretch my students. We approach each topic area gently and go through the points carefully, before my students attempt practice questions to consolidate the learning. Mistakes are encouraged in my lessons, as this is the best way to learn, and I will make sure that each student's individual needs and learning styles are accommodated for. I only plan one lesson ahead, which means I can stay very flexible and cater to specific requests where necessary.
