About Elliott
I am an Oxford MSc researcher with a degree in Biochemistry from UC Berkeley, and I am passionate about helping students achieve their potential in Chemistry and Biology. I know how challenging exams can feel, so my aim is to make complex topics clear, approachable, and even enjoyable. Having mentored students through research projects and university applications, I understand how to build confidence as well as knowledge. I want my students to leave each lesson not only more prepared for their exams but also with a stronger grasp of how science connects to the real world.

My teaching prioritises genuine understanding of key concepts and how to apply them in an exam setting, rather than relying on rote memorisation. Each lesson begins with a quick check of prior knowledge and the exam board specification, so we can target the exact topics that matter most. I break down complex ideas into simple steps, use real exam questions to test understanding, and guide students through how to structure their answers for maximum marks. Lessons typically last one hour and include a mix of explanation, practice, and review to keep learning active. I have experience mentoring students on research and exam preparation and have tutored A-Level and GCSE Chemistry, Biology, and Maths. My sessions are suited to GCSE, A-level, and IB Biology students, as well as anyone preparing for university applications in the life sciences.
