About Richanne
I’m a History and Politics student at the University of Oxford, with a strong background in education, leadership, and public engagement. Originally from Carmarthenshire, I achieved top A-Level and GCSE results at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr before going on to represent and support students through various roles at Oxford, including President of Oxford Women* in Government and Vice-President of the Oxford University Liberal Association. My experience includes working as a supply teaching assistant across Welsh-medium schools, mentoring students, and supporting access initiatives as a university ambassador. I’ve led events featuring senior civil servants and politicians, managed large-scale logistics such as college balls, and edited academic publications. I’m passionate about widening participation, education, and public service, with a practical approach developed through leadership, teaching, and community organising roles.

My tutoring approach is student-centred, flexible, and focused on building confidence. I tailor each session to the individual needs and learning style of the student, using a combination of guided questioning, active recall, and clear, structured explanations. I encourage critical thinking and ensure that students not only understand the material but can apply it independently. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, with longer sessions available upon request. I incorporate regular check-ins and progress reviews to help track development and adapt my teaching accordingly. I have experience tutoring GCSE and A-Level students, as well as university admissions advice. Experience working as a teaching assistant, supporting pupils across a range of ages and abilities. My background includes participation in competitive academic programmes and access initiatives such as the Oxbridge admissions process, giving me a strong insight into effective educational support. Lessons are designed for students aged 13–18, particularly those preparing for exams or looking to their next steps to university.
