About Maria
I studied painting at UFRJ (the oldest and biggest art school of Brazil). Drawing and painting are for anyone willing to practice and learn from experience. My focus is on providing the student the necessary knowledge to allow him/her to work in any area of the visual arts.

I teach the student to draw and paint, without the use of magic formulas, because art is practice. The basic drawing material is charcoal, one of the cheapest and oldest in the world! The painting class can be done both in acrylic and oil. If the student wishes to learn about nankin, watercolor or other techniques, I can adapt the schedule to teach them too. The student will be able to notice that any other artistic material is differentiated by technique, just adapting the learning to any other plastic medium that he chooses to use, but I'll bring good references and exercises to any preferred material.
