About Gabi

Hi! I'm a Part 1 architecture graduate now studying for my Master's MArch Part 2 in Oxford. I have taken part in international architectural competitions and won an award with two certificates for my architectural dissertation. Alongside my studies, I've built up strong practical skills in Photoshop, Revit, InDesign, and Enscape. I also work traditionally: drawing, painting and collage. I use these techniques throughout my own design process from early concept development to final presentation. I think the two go hand in hand, especially since it's more important than ever to refine traditional skills in the age of AI!

I've been an architecture mentor for a year and have worked at an art and design school for 3 years, so I have teaching experience with people of all ages, from children to adults. I know first-hand how daunting architectural education can feel at every stage, such as A-Level coursework, putting together a portfolio for university, and surviving your first years of a degree. I want to help others build confidence and enjoy the process, whether that's learning a new piece of software, developing a design idea, or preparing work for submission.

About the lesson

The first lesson will consist of setting goals for what you want to achieve and building a plan to get there, whether that's more confidence with a piece of software or preparing a portfolio for submission!

I'll help you develop and refine design ideas, and build a clear, well-presented portfolio. This can be creating a portfolio from scratch or just improving existing work.

SOFTWARE TUTORIALS One-to-one tutorials in:
AutoCAD
Photoshop
Revit
InDesign
Rendering (Enscape, Blender, Photoshop)

HAND DRAWING, PAINTING & COLLAGE
Observational and perspective drawing (freehand sketching, sketchbook practice)
Orthographic drawing by hand (plans, sections, elevations)
Painting for mood, atmosphere and concept work
Collage as a design and presentation tool
Combining hand and digital work (scanning/layering hand-drawn elements into Photoshop or InDesign)

GENERAL COURSEWORK ADVICE
Support with coursework, sketchbooks, project development, and general guidance for anyone thinking about studying architecture.
