About Safwa

I gained a B.Arch (Part 1 Architecture) degree from the University of Nottingham (2018). I've always had a love of languages, having done both French and Spanish at GCSE and continued with French at A Level. I have recently taken up Arabic, and I also speak a little Bengali. I have taught students at different stages with their French on Superprof and it has been rewarding to see their progress and growth in confidence in the language. Whilst in sixth form, I helped students in year 11 and below with their French speaking and writing in after school sessions. My role as Head Girl at school involved representing and listening to the student body, and being a role model for students to look up to.

About the lesson

I believe that the best way to learn a language is to immerse yourself in it completely, watching French films, listening to French music, exploring French literature and culture. And of course having someone to practice speaking with. Lots of students describe learning languages as boring, and learning from textbooks certainly can be and isn't always the most effective way. With my creative background, I will introduce more engaging ways of learning that will help students retain their knowledge, interest and enjoyment in learning the language. Each student will be different, and I will be sure to tailor lessons to their individual needs and objectives.

I offer the first lesson for free, where there will be a chance to get to know you and plan following lessons accordingly.

I have known Safwa for many years. She is fluent in French (for example, she reads French novels without any difficulty). On top of this, she is very patient when mentoring others, working with them at whatever level of understanding they have and helping them to progress at a pace they are comfortable with.
