About Mizwar

Passionate educator specialized in Biology, Science and Educational Psychology. My professional career started as a full-time Biology students at University of York, UK in September 2014 and graduated in July 2017. My final year project is on offspring wingshape of crossed between Heliconius melpomene and Heliconius erato. I acquired many scientific skills while pursuing my biology degree such as using micro pipetting, preparation for gel electrophoresis and using green fluorescent protein (GFP) in identifying expressed gene in Arabidopsis thaliana as well as SPSS and Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test

I am grateful to land a job as full-time Biology teacher on January 2018 in MARA Junior Science College, Betong Sarawak which is around 4 hours driving to east from Kuching (State capital of Sarawak). My first year experience as a Biology teacher is valuable and great

I pursue Diploma in Education at UNITAR from September 2019 until April 2021 with area of interest in understanding the impact of new national syllabus (KSSM) on students readiness especially for sciences subject (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). I also interested interested in Gen-Z mental health and psychology

Throughout my working, I also engaged in several co-curricular such as advisor teacher for school innovation team consist of 4 students. We did 2 scientific innovations which are (1) using Black rice waste water as acid-base pH indicator and (2) bioplastic made from sago rumbia. We won gold medal for 1st project, Black rice waste water as acid-base pH indicator on 2020 in E-NNOVATE and InSIDE University of Malaya. Also we won a bronze medal for second project (sago rumbia bioplastic) on Young Inventors Challenge (YIC) 2020

So as for this 2024, I am currently earning my bread by doing private tutor on Biology/Science. I am also enrolling in K-Youth Development Programme 2024 in CompTIA Security+ and looking for a career change! My forecast career is to venture in cyberbiosecurity and educate people on cyberattacks such as phishing, malware, social engineering, virus, trojans and how to deflect from these attacks

About the lesson

My teaching method involve in simulation and video showing of current world issues in STEM. Also encouraging students to be a STAR (Specialized, Targeted, Achievement, Result). Lesson length can be vary depending on students availability usually around 1hour to 2 hour. I have 6 years in teaching Biology and Science and my knowledge covered from primary to foundation programme
