About Esther
I am a student at the University of Oxford. I have completed both the Latin GCSE and A-Level, in which I achieved an A.
My passion for Latin and classical culture is wide-ranging, and I am devoted to providing clear and memorable explanations on topics such as grammar, syntax, and translation.
My love for Latin literature and history allows me to effectively introduce the cultural and literary aspects of Latin as seen in the GCSE and A-Level syllabi. I even have experience with spoken (active) Latin, which helps me to make lessons more engaging and give students an authentic understanding of classical Latin.
I tutor a wide range of subjects beyond Latin, and my students have received top grades at GCSE and A-level in all subjects.

I am really passionate about Latin, and I hope to share my enthusiasm with others through our lessons together!
As a home-educated student who self-studied for all my GCSEs and A-levels, I am experienced in supporting students of all ages and all levels with independent study. I aim to encourage students to develop their full potential through inspiring and engaging lessons to nurture a love for learning.
I am particularly enthusiastic about helping students achieve top grades while creating a fun and interactive classroom environment. I tutor Latin to beginners, GCSE students and A-Level students. I can help students with all elements of Latin language learning, including reading comprehension, translation, Latin composition, and even spoken (active) Latin.
My approach to each lesson is very adaptable as I tailor each class to the individual student's needs and interests. Whether a student would prefer to take a more structured approach to language learning focused on a goal such as exams, or whether they would prefer more flexible and casual Latin lessons, I am more than happy to help out!
I can also aid with Oxbridge preparation, personal statement writing, and interview practice for subjects like Classics, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, and other language courses.
