About Maarten
Hello, my name is Maarten van den Ancker and I am a German Molecular Biology student of the University of Edinburgh, currently in my third year. I find tutoring very rewarding, so I would love to do this more alongside my studies. I would describe myself as a passionate speaker, so I would love to share some of this passion for the subjects I tutor. I completed the IB having studied 4 Higher Levels (Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and German), I have a deep understanding of these subjects. I have been tutoring these subjects since High School, and have successfully bumped my tutees up by up to 4 grades (out of 7). I am willing to travel in and around Edinburgh to tutor, and I would love to tutor for all different age ranges. I have a lot of experience with working on coursework, namely the IAs we must do in the IB. I can help with increasing the structure, clarity and analysis of coursework, especially IAs and the Extended Essay. Things which might seem like very daunting tasks can be broken down into smaller tasks, and piece by piece we can produce a great piece of work. Even if you are struggling to think of a topic for your IA or other coursework, I can help you find something interesting, unique and achievable to produce a piece of work you will be proud of.
