About Sreedatri
My teaching methodology is fully centered around the individual student. Every learner is different — in their pace, their goals, and their natural strengths — so I never follow a one-size-fits-all approach. From the very first lesson, I take time to understand where the student is and where they want to go.
My lessons cover all the essential pillars of Hindustani classical singing — sur and taal (pitch and rhythm), raga theory, and performance and expression. For younger beginners, I start with building a strong sense of sur and basic taal before gradually introducing ragas. For older or more experienced students, I go deeper into the theory and expressive nuances of the tradition.
I believe that learning classical music should feel rewarding, not overwhelming. So I break down complex concepts into simple, digestible steps and use a lot of listening and repetition to build muscle memory and confidence in the voice. Progress is always celebrated, no matter how small.
