About Erin
I am a language enthusiast, and I speak Mandarin Chinese and Spanish fluently. I am a native English speaker from Scotland, with a degree in Linguistics and a PGDE Secondary teaching qualification. I have lived in Spain and China, and my two greatest passions are languages and teaching.
I am a reliable and qualified teaching professional with a great deal of experience, teaching since 2015. I have taught in China, Spain and Scotland and I have secured excellent results for my pupils. I hold high standards for myself and for my students and I believe that a great teacher-student relationship is the foundation of successful learning outcomes, alongside careful organisation, communication, and commitment on the part of both teacher and student.

My lessons are dynamic, fun and engaging. I believe that language learning is one of the great joys in life, and I infuse this into my classes.
My lessons are always made bespoke for you. We will have a consultation about the type of learner you are and your goals, and I will plan a course tailored to your needs.
I am a qualified Modern Languages secondary school teacher, but I have experience teaching Mandarin to children from as young as 6, as well as adult learners. I welcome both beginners and learners at an intermediate stage looking to take their Mandarin to the next level.
Immersion using target language is an important part of my lessons, as is the inclusion of Chinese culture and tradition. My lessons normally last one hour, and can be delivered at home (location dependent) or online.

We Love Erin! She teachers our 3 kids (ages 7, 11 & 13 so no easy task!) and she makes their Chinese lessons so much fun - I hear games, laughter and fun learning as well as quiet writing & reading time. She has to juggle different levels but has found a system around this during classes Classes are engaging but also moving forward where she has put goals into place to help my kids reach certain levels / qualifications and prepare for examinations. We would highly recommend Erin to anyone and any age.
