About Refiloe
Hi, I’m Refiloe Koloane, a third-year BCom Accounting student at Rhodes University. I only discovered my love for math in Grade 12, when I finally unlocked the “secret” to understanding it—since then, I’ve been unstoppable. Now, I’m passionate about helping others reach that same turning point. I believe every student can enjoy and excel in math with the right approach, and I’m here to guide them there.

My approach to private tutoring is student-centered and results-driven. I focus on creating a comfortable and encouraging learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions and make mistakes as part of the learning process. I adapt my teaching methods to each student’s learning style—whether visual, auditory, or hands-on—making lessons more effective and enjoyable. What makes me unique as a teacher is my ability to simplify challenging mathematical concepts and break them down into manageable steps, using real-life examples to make them relatable and easier to understand.
I am proficient in both English and Sesotho, and I can comfortably teach in either language, ensuring that language is never a barrier to learning.
A typical lesson with me includes a quick review of previous content, a step-by-step explanation of new topics, interactive problem-solving, and plenty of opportunities for practice with feedback. I also provide useful tips, memory aids, and exam strategies to help students succeed beyond the classroom.
My lessons are aimed at high school learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12, including those preparing for final exams or needing support with specific topics. Whether you’re struggling or aiming to improve your marks, my lessons are designed to meet you where you are and help you get to where you want to be.
