About Joseph
I have been teaching Spanish for 7 years and truly enjoy helping students become confident speakers. I earned a Master of Arts in Spanish and have worked with children, university students, and working professionals. Every learner has a different reason for studying, and I enjoy adapting my lessons to those goals.
One of my students wanted to travel across South America but felt nervous about speaking. After several months of conversation practice and pronunciation exercises, the student completed the trip comfortably while communicating with local people. Experiences like this remind me why I enjoy teaching.
I believe mistakes are an important part of learning because they show us where improvement begins. My classroom is relaxed, encouraging, and filled with practical activities that make learning enjoyable. I celebrate every achievement, whether it is learning new vocabulary or holding a full conversation.
Outside teaching, I enjoy reading Spanish literature, watching films from different Spanish-speaking countries, and discovering cultural traditions that I can share during lessons. These experiences bring fresh ideas into my classes and help students connect language with everyday life. I begin by understanding why each student wants to learn Spanish. This helps me create lessons that match personal goals and interests. Every learner follows a plan designed around their current level.
Grammar is introduced through simple examples before moving into conversations. I teach vocabulary using real situations that students can relate to every day. Pronunciation improves through listening practice, repetition, and friendly corrections.
Role play activities prepare learners for travel, work, and daily conversations. Reading short articles and stories helps students expand vocabulary naturally. Writing exercises strengthen sentence structure and confidence at every stage.
I also include Spanish culture because language becomes easier to understand when students learn how people actually communicate. Learners preparing for DELE receive focused exam practice with speaking, reading, listening, and writing tasks. Every lesson ends with feedback, revision, and a small activity that keeps progress moving between classes.
