About Shalaka
I am a qualified teacher with over 15 years of experience teaching in schools across Foundation Stage, KS1 and KS2.
I pride myself on bringing the very best out of each and every child and my current role as an intervention specialist allows me to do just that. Teaching in small focused groups has allowed me to see the immediate impact of my work, through focusing on bringing children up to speed with their grammar, spelling, vocabulary and sentence structure.
By teaching both English and Maths to small groups of children, I have successfully raised children’s levels enabling them to achieve excellent SATs results and gaining entry into a variety of secondary schools.

I am focused on raising standards, irrespective of the child`s current level. Writing is a personal passion of mine and I relish the opportunity to introduce new vocabulary and grammar to children in a fun and interesting way.
I frequently adapt my teaching technique to the individual child. From my experience as a qualified classroom teacher, I understand that all children are unique; what comes naturally to one, might be a challenge for another. As a parent, you will be assured that the lessons will be tailored to bring out the best in your child.
