About Joya
I’m a 21-year-old tutor who completed my schooling in both the UK and the US, graduating with a high school diploma. Having experienced both systems, I understand different learning styles and expectations, especially for students up to Year 9.
Maths hasn’t always come easily to me—I actually struggled with it for a long time. But in Year 6, something clicked, and I began to see it as a puzzle to solve rather than something to memorise. Since then, it’s been my favourite subject.
Because of that journey, I’m especially patient and understanding with students who find maths challenging. I aim to make lessons engaging, clear, and confidence-building, helping students develop their own problem-solving skills step by step.

My teaching style is patient and adaptable, making sure each lesson is suited to how you learn best.
Lessons typically last 45–60 minutes, giving enough time to cover content without feeling rushed. I have experience supporting students with schoolwork and revision, particularly at KS2 and lower secondary level.
My lessons are ideal for primary students and those up to Year 9 who want to improve their understanding, keep up in class, or boost their confidence in a supportive environment.
