About Kristel

Hi, I'm Kristel — a certified ESL teacher with almost 10 years of online teaching experience and a genuine passion for helping people communicate with confidence in English.
I hold both TEFL and TESOL certifications and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, Major in English. My teaching background spans multiple countries and platforms — I've worked with students from Japan, China, Vietnam, South Korea, and the US, which has given me a deep understanding of how learners from different cultural backgrounds approach the English language.
Before focusing on teaching full time, I also spent years in retail management, customer service, and virtual assistance — all of which sharpened my communication skills and taught me how to connect with all kinds of people. That real world experience actually makes me a more relatable and grounded teacher.
I'm patient, cheerful, and I genuinely care about each student's progress. I believe learning a language should feel encouraging, not stressful — and I work hard to create that kind of environment in every single class.

About the lesson

Every student I've worked with has taught me one thing — there's no single way to learn English. Some students need structure and grammar drills, others just need someone to talk to without feeling judged. That's exactly why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
I've been teaching English online for almost a decade, working with students from Japan, China, Vietnam, South Korea, and the US — across different ages, levels, and goals. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for IELTS or TOEFL, brushing up on business English, or just wanting to sound more natural in conversation, I'll build lessons around what you actually need.
A typical lesson with me starts with a quick check-in — how are you feeling, what did you practice since last time, what felt hard? From there, we dive into the focus area: it could be pronunciation, grammar, speaking fluency, writing, or exam prep. I always make sure there's room for real conversation, not just textbook exercises.
I'm patient, encouraging, and I genuinely enjoy watching students grow. No pressure, no judgment — just consistent, personalized lessons that move at your pace.
