About Dillon

I'm a University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Physics graduate with several years of experience tutoring and teaching students of different ages and skill levels.

I was named Tutor of the Year for the 2018–2019 academic year while working with middle school students through America Reads/America Counts. I've also taught English abroad and provided individual math instruction, adapting my approach to each student's needs and learning style.

My background in physics and technical problem-solving has given me a strong foundation in mathematics and the ability to break down challenging concepts into manageable steps.

As a tutor, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace. I believe the best results come from understanding why a method works rather than simply memorizing formulas.

About the lesson

I plan to fit my lessons to your specific needs and schedule. We can start by setting goals during our initial session and work our way up from there. I typically start each lesson by reviewing topics from the previous week and then I introduce and cover the next topic. I can prepare lectures on your required topics if you find that helpful or we can use our time together purely to go through exercises. I can also prepare tests/exams periodically if desired.

Subjects:
Pre-algebra and foundational math
Algebra I and II
Geometry
Precalculus
Introductory physics and mechanics
Homework support and exam preparation

Perfect! Absolutely fantastic tutor. We are really sad that he can no longer tutor at this time due to other commitments. My son thoroughly enjoyed his teaching style.
