About Xenia

I’m a patient and encouraging piano teacher who believes students learn best when they feel comfortable, supported, and proud of their progress. I have played piano for many years and enjoy helping beginners build a strong foundation in reading music, rhythm, technique, and musical expression.
I especially enjoy working with children and beginners. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adjust the pace and approach to the individual rather than expecting everyone to learn the same way.
My goal is to make lessons positive and enjoyable while still teaching the skills students need to become confident, independent musicians.

About the lesson

My goal is to help students not only play piano, but truly understand the music they are learning. Lessons are private, encouraging, and adapted to each student's age, experience, and goals.
We work step by step on note reading, rhythm, technique, fingering, theory, and musical expression. Rather than simply showing students which keys to press, I help them understand what they see on the page so they can gradually become confident, independent music readers.
For younger students, I keep lessons positive and engaging while still providing structure and steady progress. Teens and adults are welcome too, whether you're learning piano for the first time, returning after years away, or simply want to become a stronger player.
I commonly use Faber Piano Adventures and John Thompson's piano course, supplemented with additional music based on each student's level and interests.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable learning at their own pace, asking questions, making mistakes, and enjoying the progress they make along the way.
