About Me

Hello! I am a dedicated primary and SEN educator holding a BA in English Language. My background combines strong academic subject knowledge with practical, hands-on experience working inside a special school as an SEN Teaching Assistant. I focus exclusively on supporting primary-aged children (KS1 & KS2) with early literacy, phonics, reading, writing, and foundational learning skills.

Why I Choose to Focus on Primary & SEN

I believe that early education sets the tone for a child's entire learning journey. Having worked directly within a specialised special school environment, I understand that standard teaching methods do not work for every pupil. I have real-world experience supporting children with severe learning difficulties, Autism, ADHD, and communication needs. I know firsthand how transformative a patient, individual approach can be for a child who feels left behind in a traditional classroom setting.

My goal is not just to teach a subject, but to create a safe, reassuring, and positive environment where your child can genuinely thrive and look forward to learning.

What to Expect From My Lessons

Every lesson is fully customised to your child's unique energy levels, interests, and learning needs. Because a standard school approach doesn't work for every child, my sessions are designed to be interactive, supportive, and completely stress-free.

How I Structure Our Time

• The Warm-Up: We always start with a low-pressure, engaging activity or game to build immediate confidence and assess how your child is feeling that day.

• Bite-Sized Learning: I break core concepts (like phonics, reading, or writing) down into tiny, manageable steps. We focus on masterfully learning one small thing at a time rather than rushing through a curriculum.

• Sensory & Visual Breaks: Having worked in a dedicated special school, I know when a child needs a brain break. I weave in visual aids and quick adjustments to keep them focused without causing frustration.

• Positive Reinforcement: We celebrate every win, no matter how small, to build long-term academic self-esteem.

Who I Can Support

I specialise in helping primary school children who find standard classrooms overwhelming, including those with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, speech and language delays, or general learning anxiety.
