About Patrick

- What kind of experience do you have? I have been teaching the piano to all levels for the last 15 years. Some of my students have gone on to be professional musicians, some have taken part in competitions such as BBC Young Musicians. I regularly give master classes and teach summer courses in France. - Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate? I have a DBS check. - Where and with whom did you train? I trained in Paris Conservatoire. - Do you belong to any professional organisations? I belong to Clare Hall, from Cambridge University, and I am a member of EPTA, the European Piano Teachers Association - Tell me about some of your current students. Some of my students are considering a career in music. They play concerts regularly. Some others are amateurs. I have students of all ages, from 6 to 89.

About the lesson

I am an active concert pianist, who performs regularly in England and abroad. I have played in major concert halls, such as the Carnegie Hall or the Berlin Philharmonie. I have been teaching the piano for over 10 years. - Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach the piano, and can also teach French as this is my first language. - Tell me about your qualifications. I have a first prize from the Paris Conservatoire, and am laureate of several international competitions. - How much do you charge? I charge 60£ for an hour, or 40 for 30 minutes. If circumstances are difficult, these prices can be negotiated. - Where do you teach? Due to my combined activity of performing artist and teacher, my time is limited, therefore I can only teach at my own home. - When are you available? I teach Monday to Friday. - Which ages and levels do you teach? I teach all ages, starting from about 6. - Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? I can prepare for ABRSM exams, national or international competitions, concerts, or I am happy to have students playing for their own enjoyment. - Describe your arrangements for online tutoring. Since the pandemic started I have had to adapt and go online. I have found it a sometimes frustrating, sometimes interesting experience, depending on the kind of student. - Do you have a personal message for students? I ask only for a genuine interest in music and a desire to learn.

My rates are rather higher than the average around Cambridge, but I am a pianist and teacher with a significant amount of experience, and my students believe I am worth that price.
