About Juliana
I'm from Maranhão, in the northeast of Brazil, where popular festivals are directly linked to religious festivals, and I grew up listening to percussion in the backyard and on every street corner. I majored in theater and dance, where my relationship with percussion intensified. I've been playing percussion, mainly hand drums (conga, djembe, atabaque...), for 20 years and I teach Brazilian and Afro-Brazilian rhythms from a musically diverse Brazil.

Learn to play by playing!
Through a simple and fun method, we will study different musical techniques: motor coordination, timing, speed, and rhythmic aspects. Learn Brazilian rhythms and the basic rhythms of Umbanda (a spiritual practice from Brazil with Afro-indigenous roots). Study the relationship between the body and music (body percussion), the different tones of the drum, and the cells of the supporting instruments (agogô, caxixi, berimbau...).
Lessons for all levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced)
Instruments: Djembe, Conga, Bongo, Cajon, Conga, Atabaque and Timbal from Brazil
The content of the lessons will be adjusted according to each student's knowledge.
