About Jasper

I have 12 years of experience as a Piano tutor and teach school students, college students, and working professionals. My goal is to make piano education enjoyable while helping students develop proper technique, musical understanding, and confidence.

I believe learning becomes more effective when lessons are connected to the student's interests. I therefore take time to understand what each learner wants to achieve and use suitable songs, exercises, and activities to support those goals.

My teaching areas include piano fundamentals, finger technique, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song learning, improvisation, and performance skills. I combine explanation and practice so students can immediately apply new concepts.

My teaching philosophy is based on patience, communication, adaptability, and encouragement. I understand that every student progresses differently. When a learner faces difficulty, I change my explanation or provide additional exercises rather than expecting them to understand immediately.

I also believe in building confidence through small achievements. I help students set short-term goals and recognize their progress. This keeps them motivated and gives them a positive attitude toward learning.

A notable achievement in my teaching journey is gaining nine years of experience with students from school age through professional life. This has helped me understand different learning styles, schedules, and expectations.

I guide students in developing good practice habits and time management. My aim is to help them become responsible and independent learners who can continue developing their piano skills outside regular lessons.

Whether you are interested in piano as a hobby, preparing for a performance, or looking for serious skill development, I provide a supportive and structured learning experience tailored to your needs.

About the lesson

My piano teaching methodology focuses on Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I aim to develop students not only as piano players but also as well-rounded musicians. I create lessons that are suitable for the student's ability, learning style, musical interests, and long-term goals.

I begin with the basics and gradually build stronger skills. Depending on the student's level, lessons may include posture, hand position, finger coordination, scales, chords, rhythm, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song performance, and musical expression. I introduce theory alongside practical playing so students can understand music instead of only memorizing notes.

Every student learns differently, so I use a combination of demonstrations, visual material, listening activities, written exercises, repetition, and practical playing. If a student struggles with a concept, I change the explanation or activity until it becomes easier to understand.

I keep my teaching flexible and adjust the pace according to progress. I also collaborate with students when choosing suitable songs, identifying areas for improvement, and setting practice goals. This gives students a sense of ownership and encourages them to stay committed to learning.

Positivity is central to my lessons. I encourage students to ask questions, try new ideas, and learn from mistakes. I provide supportive feedback and celebrate progress to help them build confidence.

Along with piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard skills, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to make learning enjoyable while developing strong technical skills, musical understanding, creativity, and confidence.
