About Violet
I am an experienced violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, committed to helping students grow as confident, skilled, and expressive musicians. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners learning foundational techniques to advanced performers preparing for recitals, exams, and competitions.
One of the most fulfilling milestones in my career has been helping students progress from struggling with posture, technique, or stage confidence to performers capable of playing with technical precision, musical expression, and emotional depth.
My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive playing. I incorporate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to provide a complete musical education.
I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and motivating environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, cultivate discipline, and instil a lifelong love of music in every student.

I teach violin with a methodology focused on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aiming to cultivate technically proficient, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are fully personalised to match the student’s abilities, goals, and learning style, combining structured technical exercises with creative exploration, improvisation, and performance practice.
Motivation is central to my approach. I help students define achievable short-term and long-term goals, track progress meticulously, and celebrate accomplishments, cultivating engagement, perseverance, and self-confidence. Students learn to embrace challenges and develop resilience, seeing growth as a journey rather than a destination.
Communication ensures lessons are interactive, supportive, and collaborative. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share concerns, and explore ideas openly, which strengthens the teacher-student partnership.
Creativity is emphasised throughout the curriculum. Improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises help students discover their unique artistic voice and develop a deep emotional connection to music. Integrity teaches disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, instilling habits that support long-term excellence.
