About Clara

I am a dedicated violin tutor with 7 years of teaching and professional music experience, passionate about helping students achieve both technical mastery and artistic expression. I teach school and college students at all levels, from beginners discovering their first notes to advanced learners preparing for recitals, competitions, and exams.

One of the highlights of my career has been seeing students transform from hesitant beginners into confident performers capable of playing with skill, emotion, and musicality.

My teaching emphasises strong technical foundations, including posture, finger placement, bowing technique, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also fostering creativity, musical interpretation, and expressive performance. I integrate music theory, sight-reading, listening exercises, and performance practice to ensure students gain a comprehensive understanding of music.

Lessons are adapted to each student’s pace, goals, and learning style, creating a supportive, patient, and inspiring environment where students are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and reach their full potential. Teaching violin allows me to inspire confidence, discipline, and a lifelong passion for music in every student.

About the lesson

I teach violin with a methodology based on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, designed to foster technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are structured but flexible, combining technical exercises, improvisation, creative exploration, and performance preparation tailored to each student.

Motivation is at the heart of my teaching. I help students set realistic goals, track progress, and celebrate milestones, fostering engagement, perseverance, and self-confidence. Communication ensures lessons are interactive and supportive, allowing students to ask questions, share challenges, and explore ideas freely.

Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, composition, and interpretation exercises, helping students develop their personal artistic voice and emotional connection to music. Integrity emphasises disciplined, responsible practice and respect for learning, cultivating habits that support long-term growth and excellence.

Alongside violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm, and introductory piano, providing students with a well-rounded and comprehensive musical education.
