About Theo

I have more than 11 years of experience teaching piano to college students, specializing in developing technical skills, artistic expression, and performance confidence. My teaching style is adaptive, student-centered, and creative, tailored to each learner’s goals and pace.

I incorporate innovative methods such as improvisation exercises, composition challenges, modern music adaptations, and interactive sight-reading activities to make lessons engaging, productive, and fun. I emphasize building technique, rhythm, sight-reading, music theory, and performance skills, while also encouraging students to explore their creativity and express themselves musically.

I aim to create a supportive, motivating, and inspiring environment where students feel confident, challenged, and inspired. My ultimate mission is to help students achieve technical mastery, discover their musical voice, and develop a lifelong love for piano and music.

About the lesson

My piano teaching approach is creative, structured, and student-focused. I believe piano learning should be fun, meaningful, and confidence-building.

Creativity is encouraged through improvisation, exploring different music styles, and learning songs that students enjoy. This helps students express themselves and stay motivated.

As a mentor and critical thinker, I teach rhythm, finger technique, scales, chords, and musical expression in simple, easy-to-understand steps. Students learn to analyze their playing and correct mistakes independently.

Accountability is a key part of my teaching. I guide students to set achievable goals, follow consistent practice routines, and review progress regularly. This builds discipline and responsibility.

Along with piano, I also teach music theory, sight reading, ear training, rhythm skills, keyboard coordination, and basic composition to strengthen overall musical development.
