About Darius
I am a college-trained saxophonist and recording artist with years of experience in performing across several genres of music. My improvising skills have given life to my solos and earned me lead alto sax roles for small groups and big bands alike. I've led and taught peers to perform music and create solos in the moment since 2012. Because of my help, students have been able to confidently and successfully perform solos for large shows and win statewide competitions in jazz performance.

I base my lessons on the fundamental subjects of jazz performance:
- Saxophone tone & timbre
- Technical Playing Skills
- Understanding lead sheets & chord progressions
- Improvising Solos
- Manual nuances (scoops, falls, etc)
- Developing Stage Presence
Each topic would build from the last to help the students get an immersive and more complete learning experience. This way, students can use what they learn for saxophone along with ideas and information that can transfer into other instruments/genres.
Optionally, I do offer consulting to musicians looking to find their solo in a song/project that they're involved with. If you want to make your good solo great, I can help make that happen!

Perfect! Listen. I haven't played the saxophone literally 16yrs, super rusty, the whole nine yards, and he listens, is patient and is literally taking me from basic to amazing!!! 10/10 recommend!!!
