I’ve been learning Chinese with Yumie, and one thing I’ve always appreciated is how much thought she puts into her lessons. She often buys books on different subjects to better suit her students’ interests and abilities, rather than just sticking to one textbook.
At the start of October, I travelled to China for work, so we spent some time focusing on the kind of Chinese I’d actually need while I was there. It made a huge difference. I was genuinely surprised by how much I could manage on my own, from getting around to handling everyday conversations. I definitely wouldn’t have felt nearly as confident without her help.
She’s very patient, easy to talk to, and good at explaining things when you’re struggling to understand something. I’ve really enjoyed learning with her, and I’d happily recommend her to anyone wanting to learn Chinese.
