About Maria
I have a B.A (Honours) Degree in Decorative Arts specialising in kiln-formed glass. I was the winning artist for Nottingham Industrial Museum in 2017 for my industrial designs.
I have been art tutoring since 2017, I have experience of tutoring drawing, painting techniques, watercolour painting demonstrations to both individuals and also to groups. Before this, I have been working in art and design-related roles in schools in Nottingham.
My experience includes Cover Teacher at Toot Hill Arts Academy, The Banks, Bingham.
I covered the Design and Technology lessons successfully, managed the class well, using my knowledge about art and design to help the pupils to do the work to the correct standard, based on their design sheets using knowledge of pop art and graffiti art for a Year 9 class and also helped Year 10 pupils with creating product and brand designs for "beats" headphones.
From GCSE to advanced, one of my pupils has come on so much with their drawings of buildings that they are going to have their own art exhibition!! (reviews can be seen on First Tutors)
In short, I adapt my lessons to the individual and what they want to achieve.

Teaching Approach:
I have worked with a variety of people from primary children and older to help them to fulfil and achieve their goals.
I aim to provide the utmost quality service results orientated and tailored to the children or young adults' needs.
My mission is to empower others, make them strive further and further towards their goals and be confident on their journeys. To empower them with the skills for success and to nurture and allow their talent to grow.
I use the most up-to-date teaching methods in my teaching.
My teaching methodology is to look at the pupils' existing artwork, find out what they want to achieve, then base my lessons on this, with each lesson the tasks will become more complex and use the skills they are building to develop their skills further.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
My daughter is usually shy, especially with new people. Maria managed to remove the barrier softly and unnoticeably, by advising better ways to draw and paint. My daughter felt safe and comfortable and enjoyed every moment of the lesson. Highly recommend!
