About María

I have a degree in Modern Languages, Culture and Communication, and a PGCE in Secondary MFL teaching for Spanish and French. I have worked as a language assistant, Spanish and French teacher, and as a tutor, so I have a variety of methods and approaches to help with any particular need.

Hola! My name is María, I'm from Galicia, Spain, and I've been teaching Spanish in the UK for 4+ years.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀:

▸ All levels and ages welcome.
▸ 1:1 lessons online.
▸ I adapt my methods to the needs of each student.
▸ I have 4+ years' experience in the English school system, so I can help you prepare for your GCSE or A-Level.
▸ 50 minute lessons -length up for discussion.

𝗠𝘆 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴:

I build my teaching around two basic principles: that the main point of learning a language is learning to communicate and express yourself, and that you progress faster when you enjoy what you are doing. That's why I work hard to adapt my lessons to your interests and make them work for you.
I have taught all levels, from complete beginners to university students. I love teaching not just my language, but also my culture, including music, literature, films, cuisine, etc.
I have an open and friendly approach to lessons. I will encourage (but not force) you to speak, write and express yourself without judgement.
