About Sian

I am an experienced IB teacher and Head of Science with many years of experience supporting teenagers through demanding academic programmes.

What I enjoy most is helping students understand themselves as learners. Very often, students do not need more pressure or another perfect study timetable. They need someone to help them work out what is getting in the way, find strategies that actually suit them and build confidence in their own ability to manage their learning.

My approach is warm, practical and non-judgemental. I want students to feel comfortable being honest about what is difficult, whether that is procrastination, organisation, motivation, overwhelm or simply not knowing where to begin.

Alongside teaching, I have trained in coaching and use these skills to help students become more independent, reflective and effective learners.

I work particularly well with IB students who are bright and capable but sometimes feel overwhelmed by everything they are trying to juggle.

About the lesson

I offer personalised online study coaching for IB students who want to become more confident, independent and effective learners across all of their subjects.

Rather than tutoring one subject, I help students understand how they learn best and build practical strategies for planning, organisation, revision, motivation, procrastination and managing overwhelm.

Sessions are usually 60 minutes and are tailored to the individual student. We might work on an upcoming assessment, look at how they are currently studying, practise a new revision technique, break down a difficult workload, or build a realistic plan for the week ahead.

My approach is warm, practical and collaborative. I do not give students another perfect timetable to follow. Instead, I model useful strategies, help them test what works, and support them in becoming increasingly independent.

I am an experienced IB teacher and Head of Science, with coaching training and many years of experience supporting teenagers with learning, organisation and academic progress.

My coaching is particularly suited to IB students who are capable but feel overwhelmed, struggle to get started, leave revision too late, find it difficult to prioritise, or simply want to become better learners.
