About Ángela

Hello! I’m Ángels, from Gijón, and I’m a Spanish teacher specialized in working with English speakers and education technologies.

My studies? I hold a BA in English studies and a MA in Spanish as a Foreign language. I’ve also completed a MA in Translation English-Spanish and a MA in Secondary Education teaching.

For the past few years, I have continued developing my knowledge, completing several courses, including the DELE exam examiner certification, University Expert in ICTs for the language classroom or Creativity and Design of didactic materials.

And my experience!
I worked as a native Spanish teacher at University of Glasgow 2015-2017. In 2018, I earned a Fulbright scholarship to work as a Spanish teacher at University of Arkansas.
At the moment I teach languages online and create my own teaching materials that I share on my page Spanish Around (concealed information) on Instagram / @thespanisharound on facebook). Don’t hesitate to visit my web if you want to check some of the activities I like to use, some of my students' reviews or my full CV: (concealed information)

About the lesson

How do I teach? My basic principle is personalization: I always take into account my students’ needs, interests and objectives. My lessons are highly interactive and I intend that my students learn in a simple way using their own deduction skills and reflection. I love creating my own materials! If there’s something you can be sure of, is that with me you’ll speak lots of Spanish and you will have fun :)

Rule number 1: Spanish! Spanish! Spanish! Use the Spanish language to the fullest from the beginning to get acquainted with it. My lessons are highly interactive, favoring communication so the student feels comfortable using the Spanish language.

Rule number 2: learning is fun! I like to design my own materials and activities to make the classes more interesting and personal. Use of games and interactive activities as a resource to promote motivation, predisposition and content retention.

If you want to know more or try a lesson with me, don't hesitate to contact me!

Ms. Otero is one of the most fantastic professors that I've ever had. She always walks into class with a lively disposition and it immediately illuminates the classroom. She is patient and always ready to assist a student. Nothing is a dumb question to her and I think that invites more students to ask questions and gives them the assurance needed to progress in the class.

Ángela Es la mejor profe que he tenido. Ella es muy responsable y creativa. Yo soy de Rusia y no hablaba español en absoluto hace dos años. Ángela me ayudó a empezar a hablar. Ella no es el tipo de profe que solo toma dinero. Es muy trabajadora y te hace progresar.
