About Gonzalo
Hola, my name is Gonzalo, I’m 26 years old, I’m from Chile and moved to Toronto 8 years ago, graduated high school here then went to York University for Biology. Learning languages has always been part of my life, and for the past year I’ve had the opportunity to teach Spanish to Canadian high school students. I have a pretty good idea of what it is students struggle the most with, particularly in the beginning (concepts like el,la,ellos,ellas,les).
Learning Spanish might seem a bit intimidating at first, but as you learn about the culture you’ll be able to enjoy the language.
I’m studying a few languages myself, having already learned English and Portuguese (Brazilian), French is my next Goal!

Initially I’ll asses your current level of Spanish, and if you know very little, don’t worry, we’ll take it from the basics, as this is mainly for beginners and people going into an intermediate level.
Need help with homework? I’ll help you out with your grammar.
Travelling? I’ll teach you the phrases you’ll need … to make sure things go smoothly.
Need to practice what you already know? Even better! I love to chat. Conversation makes great practice, and it’s an ideal way to add to your vocabulary.
Spanish is my mother tongue, and I’ll gladly teach you the basics, as well as the diverse culture associated with the language, as the meaning of the words may vary within Latin American countries (yup… that’s a thing) .
