About Levi

I have over 10 years of experience with playing piano, starting when I was only 5. After only 4 years, I needed a new teacher as I had surpassed the level of my current one. In the first 6 years of me playing, I was able to foster good technique, and a very good base for my piano career. Over time, I gravitated away from contemporary/classical music and started to study Jazz. In the past 5 or so years, I have focused on improving things like improvisation, music theory, songwriting, relative pitch, internal timing, and playing in a group. I have over 6 years of songwriting experience. Starting as me writing songs by hand on staff paper, and evolving into fully produced and finished songs, I have practiced every step extensively. I have 5+ years of experience playing with multiple bands of varying sizes, ages, and skill levels. I have played with groups I've never met, playing songs I’ve never heard/played. There is nothing like playing with a group of people. I am by no means a master in any sense, however, my training is extensive.

About the lesson

Do you have a piano sitting in your house? One that only gets played when you finally decide to clean the dust off the keys? Imagine how cool it would be to play all the songs you love! Whether or not you’ve never touched a piano in your life, or you have a few years of formal lessons, I can create personalized lessons to teach you what you really want to learn. If you want to learn the songs you love, we’ll focus on technique, reading music, practice techniques, and musicality. If you want to learn to write your own music, we'll focus on music theory, musical structure, and creative expression. Have friends that play instruments? Interested in starting a band? If you’re interested in learning to play with others, we’ll focus on music theory, improvisation, timings and internal rhythm, and ear training. Not into live lessons? Not a problem! I will record personalized lesson plans, create worksheets and practices, and give you resources to practice on your own (either free or paid for by me).
