About Paul
I am an HCPC-registered Paramedic with over a decade of experience working in and around healthcare — both on the frontline and in higher education. I hold a BSc in Paramedic Science and a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in Education (PGCAP), and I currently work as a Programme Lead in higher education, overseeing both apprenticeship and direct entry routes into healthcare.
Teaching is not a side interest for me — it is a core part of my professional identity. I have designed and delivered curricula at degree level, supported learners through some of the most challenging academic and clinical content in healthcare education, and helped students find their confidence in subjects that can feel overwhelming at first.
I believe that the best learning happens when students feel genuinely supported, intellectually curious, and free to ask questions without judgement. That philosophy shapes every tutoring session I run.
Outside of my academic role I remain a practising paramedic, which means the knowledge I share is current, clinically grounded, and directly relevant — not just textbook theory.

I bring real-world clinical experience into every session. As an HCPC-registered Paramedic with a BSc in Paramedic Science and a PGCAP in Education, I've spent years teaching anatomy and physiology and clinical practice at degree level — currently as Programme Lead for an Assistant Practitioner apprenticeship programme.
My teaching style is built around storytelling and experiential learning. Rather than lecturing at you, I use real clinical scenarios and case-based examples to make complex topics stick. You'll be an active participant in every session, not a passive listener — I ask questions, explore ideas together, and connect the theory to things that actually make sense in the real world.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and fully tailored to where you are and where you need to get to. I can teach anatomy and physiology from GCSE right through to degree level, so whether you're preparing for exams, struggling with a specific topic, or want to deepen your understanding for clinical practice, I can meet you there.
