About Aamer

I am a qualified Business and Economics teacher with a PGCE in Business with Economics, QTS, an MSc in Economics (Merit) and a BSc in Economics. I have recent classroom experience teaching GCSE Business and A-Level Business and Economics, alongside experience supporting students with different abilities and learning needs.

Having progressed through GCSEs, A-Levels, university and postgraduate study myself, I understand the challenges students can face when studying complex subjects and preparing for important examinations.

I was also diagnosed with dyslexia during my academic journey, which has given me a personal understanding of the difficulties some students can experience with processing information, organising their work and approaching learning in a way that works for them. It has shaped my approach as a teacher and helps me to appreciate that students do not all learn in the same way.

I am passionate about helping students develop not only their subject knowledge, but also their confidence and belief in their own ability. My aim is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their understanding at their own pace.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured, personalised and focused on helping students make measurable progress. Each session is adapted to the student's current level, areas of difficulty and individual goals.

I use a combination of clear explanations, questioning, worked examples and exam-style practice to develop both understanding and confidence. Rather than simply memorising content, students are encouraged to understand the reasoning behind economic and business concepts and learn how to apply them to different situations.

A strong emphasis is placed on exam technique, including understanding command words, structuring answers, developing chains of analysis, making effective evaluations and applying knowledge to the context of the question.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and can focus on a particular topic, revising areas of weakness, working through exam questions or preparing for upcoming assessments and examinations.

Lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-Level students, whether they are looking to build confidence, improve their grades or work towards the highest possible marks.
