About Arnoldus

I am currently completing a PhD in Classics at the University of Toronto. I have been a tutor for over a decade in Latin, Classics, History, and English, and essay writing at the secondary and post-secondary level. I am extremely enthusiastic and passionate about teaching. I love helping students learn and succeed!

About the lesson

I am extremely passionate about teaching. It was the primary reason I entered academia. I am constantly excited by a student's engagement and improvement. I channel my enthusiasm into a tutoring plan tailored to you so that we can best work to improve your skills together.

Each student learns individually and has different learning styles and paces. For tutoring I apply diverse learning strategies to best suit the student. A session will begin with a short review followed by moving forward to address any areas of confusion a student identifies from the week's materials. We then work together to untangle the material and build comprehension through a variety of exercises. Overall, I seek to increase a student's skills to dissect material as well as retain information.

He was incredibly understanding and patient even though I probably asked him the same grammar questions every single week.
