About Lauren
My name is Lauren, and I am an MD-PhD candidate committed to encouraging and empowering students to reach their goals. I have 4+ years of experience as a TA and tutor in STEM fields and have also worked in childcare for K-12. 1) Active learning is backed by decades of research and is implemented in my instructional methods. I use a lot of call-and-response, review, and having students relay concepts in their own words/using their own analogies.
2) I believe that an engaged student is an empowered student. Positive feedback, games, and goal-setting are a part of every session.
3) My focus is on Biology and Life Sciences at multiple grade levels, Algebra, Chemistry, and English.
