About Tess
I received my BA in English from Hamilton College. I then worked as an editorial assistant for Scholastic's Parent & Child Magazine. I then received an MA in English from San Francisco State University. I have taught English as a Second Language in Seoul, South Korea. After my return, I received a doctoral degree in English from St. John's University in New York City. I have taught kindergarten through college level courses in all areas of English.

I also want students to see and feel the real life implications of what they are learning. Simulating context as closely as possible also encourages students to generate the ideas actively and independently. It is always my goal to foster independent thinking. With each lesson I present a manageable teaching point, practice it in a controlled manner, then monitor the students while they produce the new point on their own.
