About Alejandro
I'm a current PhD student, studying Genetics at the University of California, Riverside. I also received my Bachelors (Biology Major, Chemistry Minor) from the University of Miami in 2017. Currently, I spend most of my time in a laboratory, my research is focused on DNA replication.
I've spent 5 years teaching Biology at the University Level (leading my own discussion sections and lab sections). I find teaching to be the most rewarding part of grad school. There is a certain joy that comes from helping students sort through the confusion of the complexity of biology. Biology can be challenging, but with some help, everyone can succeed. I love helping students find their confidence.

I can break down complicated biology topics into simple and approachable lessons. With years of teaching, I've taught Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Genetics at introductory and advanced levels. I will tailor my lessons to what you need help with. I've written university level quizzes, graded exams, and led discussion sections, so I can distill what should be focused on.
I tend to use whiteboards a lot, I find that diagrams and figures are helpful to most students.
I can teach any biology students, from high school to masters coursework. From "What is a cell?" to "Propose an experiment", I've got the experience and I'm happy to help.
