About Sophi
I recently graduated from Loyola Chicago with my PhD in organic chemistry and currently work as a scientist in chemical manufacturing. Teaching is one aspect of academia I miss greatly. In grad school, I taught organic and general chemistry as well as both corresponding lab courses. I held office hours and tutored students in need throughout the semester. I also mentored many undergraduate research students throughout the years. My love for teaching began as an undergraduate where I served as a university tutor for Chemistry, physics, biology, and various math courses.

Helping a student succeed is one of the best feelings. I take an individualized approach to tutoring in order to best help the particular student I am working with. I like to take into consideration the learning style of the student as well as their history with the course material and their current position in the class. I also love making learning fun! Science is something I am very passionate about and I feel very lucky to be able to share that with others. I do what I can to meet the student with a warm and positive attitude.
