About Tayyab

I'm a business leader, academic, and innovator with over 20 years at the sharp end of major programmes and organisational transformation.

I hold a PhD in Management and served as a visiting lecturer and module leader at UCL. I co-authored the APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition — the national standard used across UK industry — and I've been invited to 10 Downing Street to advise on AI solutions. I hold a patent pending for technology I've developed to transform how organisations manage projects. I've led multi-million-pound programmes for FTSE 100 clients including London Stock Exchange Group, BNP Paribas, and Allianz, as well as UK government bodies.

I founded and run Firewood, a specialist consultancy and technology company that advises major organisations on how to deliver complex change successfully.

Why does any of that matter for your studies? Because I've lived what's in your textbooks. I've built businesses, shaped national standards, and developed technology that's changing my industry. I can show you how the models and theories actually play out when the stakes are high — and I know exactly what examiners are looking for because I've taught at university level and contributed to the professional standards your course is built on.

About the lesson

My approach
I don't do death-by-slides or memorisation. My lessons focus on understanding concepts properly — once you genuinely grasp how something works, you can apply it to any exam question or case study they throw at you.

I use real examples from my own career leading major programmes for organisations like London Stock Exchange Group, Allianz, and UK government bodies. Theory sticks better when you can see how it plays out in practice. We'll work through past papers and case studies together, but I'll also show you the shortcuts examiners love and the mistakes that cost marks.

Lesson length
Typically 60 minutes, though I'm flexible for intensive revision sessions or dissertation supervision where 90 minutes works better.

My background
PhD in Management. Visiting lecturer at UCL. Co-author of the APM Body of Knowledge 7th Edition. 20+ years leading multi-million-pound transformation programmes for FTSE 100 clients. I've also mentored postgraduate students, so I know what markers are looking for.
