About Nicua

After being in the army for almost 5 years, I needed a career change. As a child, teenager and now adult, I've always had an interest in and a love for photography. After studying photography for 18 months through the photography institute, as well as doing extra study in portraiture, I started my own small boutique photography business.

I have a great love for telling a story through photography as well as taking interesting and conceptual photography. On the other hand, family, pet and portraiture photography gives me great joy as well, capturing moments and preparing a collection of beautiful memories for people to have for a long time.

I really enjoy helping others learn a new skill and with photography there is such an outlet for artistic expression. Creating a stress free environment is important to me and I greatly encourage self expression and artistic freedom with a solid groundwork of photography background and theory.

About the lesson

After having a chat and finding out what sort of focus and result my student wishes, I will format a unique course for them consisting of assignments, theory lessons, interesting facts and ideas and other additional materials.
Lessons include information about lighting, set up, lenses, focus, composition and more! Lessons based on creating a firm and solid foundation to start and grow from.
Beginner tips and advice for Photoshop use can also be included.

I believe in creating a teaching environment that is both comfortable and stress free for the student.
Lessons are for anyone over the age of 13 who has their own camera.
