About Joshua
I have recently graduated from the University of Oxford with my Master's degree in Physics. I am due to return in September to start my DPhil but I will be continuing to tutor students after this. I am passionate about physics and maths education in young people and in particular, supporting their transition into higher education. I do not believe in memorising facts for exams, I would love to instil some passion for physics and mathematics in students.

I am firmly against memorisation for maths exams, I will give the student the confidence in their understanding to apply concepts and solve new problems. I believe it's essential for Maths, especially if going on to study further at university, that the core concepts are understood fully. This is something schools don't often have time to go over again, but it makes solving problems in the exam, particularly those which require a bit of problem solving, much easier. We will go through key concepts again at the start of the lesson, then move on to some simpler example questions before building up to some more challenging questions - that might push past the syllabus a bit - but will really help get a full grasp of the topic.
