About Livia
My passion for physics began with curiosity about the fundamental forces that shape the universe, which led me to pursue a B.Sc in Applied Physics. Over the past 12 years, I have guided learners from novice to advanced levels, translating challenging topics into accessible and engaging lessons that foster both understanding and confidence. My teaching emphasises clarity, patience, and adaptability, ensuring every student progresses at their own pace while developing a strong conceptual framework.
I focus on connecting abstract theories to practical and real-life examples, helping learners visualise forces, energy transformations, and motion in tangible ways. Lessons integrate hands-on demonstrations, structured problem-solving, and interactive discussion to promote active learning. I encourage questioning, exploration, and independent reasoning, helping students think critically and develop intellectual autonomy.
Beyond teaching, I stay current with research developments, technological applications, and emerging topics in physics. This enables me to provide learners with contemporary examples and insights, enriching their educational experience. Physics lessons with me are designed to make complex concepts intuitive, engaging, and directly relevant to everyday experiences. I cover classical mechanics, thermodynamics, waves, electromagnetism, and introductory quantum mechanics, using examples from nature, technology, and research to bring abstract concepts to life. Each lesson balances theoretical understanding with practical exercises, demonstrations, and problem-solving sessions. I emphasise conceptual clarity, encouraging students to visualise, reason, and question phenomena. Lessons are structured to support confidence-building, gradually introducing challenging topics while ensuring that foundational principles are firmly understood.
For beginners, lessons focus on basic laws, simple calculations, and guided observations that build a strong conceptual base. Intermediate learners are introduced to multi-step derivations, analytical problem-solving, and laboratory techniques that deepen understanding. Advanced students engage in theoretical analysis, experimental modelling, and complex calculations, developing independence and rigour in their thinking.
