About Alija
Hi! I’m Alija Sukurica, a physics major at City College of New York, and for the past four years, I’ve helped a wide range of students—everyone from kindergarteners to college majors—find their footing in math and science. I especially love working with teens and college students who feel like these subjects are just out of reach. Honestly, I know math and physics have a reputation for being tough (and even a little scary), but I believe that’s mostly because they’re rarely taught in a way that actually makes sense for most people. My goal is to take the mystery and frustration out of learning and replace it with real understanding. I break things down into clear, simple steps, and I’m always patient when you need the process explained more than once. I want my students to see that with the right approach, anyone can succeed—and even enjoy learning. If you’re feeling stuck, stressed, or just wish someone would finally make math and science “click,” I’d love to help you get there.

I know how overwhelming math and physics can feel sometimes, but I truly believe anyone can succeed with the right support. As a physics major who’s worked with all kinds of students, I make lessons relaxed and open, so you never have to worry about asking questions or getting something “wrong.” We’ll start each session by checking in on what’s been tricky and set some easy goals for what you want to tackle. I break things down into simple steps, use real-life examples, and walk through problems side by side—never just handing out answers. I love finding different ways to explain things until they click for you. By the end of each lesson, you’ll have a clearer sense of the material and know exactly what to practice next, with honest encouragement and tips you can use right away. Whether you’re catching up, getting ahead, or just trying to feel more confident, I’m here to help you learn at your own pace and hopefully even enjoy the process. My focus is on building your skills and confidence, so you’ll leave each session feeling ready to take on whatever comes next.
